Then you are exactly right in Anthering, because Anthering is only 7 km away from Salzburg and is therefore perfect for your stay in the middle of nature in close proximity to the festival city of Salzburg. But the nature village impresses not only with its proximity to Salzburg, but especially with the village character it has preserved. Traditions and customs are very important to us, which you can see in our events, but also in our sights - or where did you last visit a mill, where they still grind like in grandfather's time?
In the middle of nature
With its meadows, forests and rolling hills, you are right in the middle of nature and have all the opportunities it has to offer: Hiking, biking, swimming and bathing in summer, but also cross-country skiing, winter hiking and touring skiing in winter. These possibilities not only make the hearts of nature enthusiasts beat faster, because movement in the free, untouched nature is fun for everyone and lets you really switch off.
About Anthering
Anthering is located in the northern part of the Salzburg Basin, on the edge of an impressive hilly landscape. Here the nature village is idyllically nestled between Hochgitzen in the south and Haunsberg in the north. While Anthering borders Seekirchen am Wallersee to the east, the western border is the Salzach River with its enchanting alluvial landscape. The river is also the state border between Austria and Germany.
The natural village is located at 422 m above sea level and the municipal area covers 2,530 ha. Currently, about 4000 people live in Anthering.
